Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The Spring Abor Township Police Department is urging residents to be on the alert for scam attempts. Recently, citizens have reported receiving phone calls, emails, and text messages from individuals falsely claiming to represent government agencies, utility companies, and financial institutions.

Township officials say these scammers often demand immediate payment, request personal information, or threaten legal action in order to pressure victims into compliance.

They say legitimate organizations will never demand payment through gift cards, wire transfers, or cryptocurrency. If you receive a suspicious call or message, hang up or delete it, and do not provide any information.

The Spring Arbor Township Police Department encourages residents to share this information with family, friends, and especially vulnerable populations such as seniors, who are often targeted.
