A state of emergency has been declared in Otsego County by Governor Whitmer following a destructive tornado that tore through Gaylord.

The tornado and severe weather left two people dead and over 40 others injured, as well as causing significant property damage across the community.

The state of emergency will allow for Otsego County to use emergency state resources along with local recovery efforts.
