Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — State Representative Kathy Schmaltz has recently been testifying in favor of multiple Jackson County entities in request for grant funding from the state in the House’s new process where representatives make their case in front of a committee. Rep. Schmaltz discussed that process during her latest appearance on A.M. Jackson.

 

She testified in favor of grant funding for Andy’s Place, Interfaith Shelter, the Ella Sharp trail, the Jackson County Jail, and more.

The House Veterans and Families Committee, which Rep. Schmaltz chairs, heard testimony in her committee on a legislation package that would expand amber alerts.

 

The committee heard additional testimony in favor of bills that would offer an alternative to guardianship for those with developmental disabilities.
