Music On Tap’s first indoor event is Friday night at the “Wax”, with a Taste of Bluegrass.
Music on Tap director Steve Trosin joined WKHM to tell us about the headliner. “Phoebe Hunt and The Gatherers from Brooklyn, New York are going to be in town and we’re really excited to have them joining us.” Trosin said. “She’s been on the music scene for a long time; lived in Austin Texas for a lot of years, relocated to Brooklyn (New York). She and her husband, who plays mandolin in her band, wrote this last record after they did a 10-day meditation retreat in India; so there’s quite a backstory to their music.”
Trosin also released an album of his own, and original lineup of tracks entitled ‘Course Correction’. “It’s eleven songs I’ve written over the past couple of years, just kind of charting the course of my life and the changes I’ve been through. A lot of the songs are personal, but I’ve heard from a lot of people that they can really relate to them.” Trosin said. The album is available to the JSO Box Office, or online.
Here’s a sample from ‘Course Correction’, titled “Off The Grid”.
