Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Just before 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday night a Jackson County Deputy and a Sergeant responded to Henry Ford for an assault report that occurred at Purdy Drive in Summit Township. The victim told authorities that they were physically assaulted until they passed out and were threatened with a knife, and that the suspect stole a firearm before leaving the scene.

The suspect was not initially located, however later on early Wednesday morning at around 1:10 a.m., authorities say they found the suspect vehicle from the assault on Purdy Drive in the City of Jackson at Eaton Street. All county units responded, and the house was surrounded with the assistance of City of Jackson Police Department. A search warrant was then drafted and executed.

The suspect exited the residence and was taken into custody. During the execution of the search warrant the stolen handgun was located. The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office says suspect is being charged with domestic assault causing great bodily harm, breaking and entering, larceny of firearm and prohibited person in possession of firearm / ammunition.
