
Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — The preliminary exam of three men accused in the homicide of John Lusch resulted in them being headed to trial in Jackson County Circuit Court.
Defendants Bryan Johnson, Jemel Milton, and Phillip Gauze were bound over on the charges of Homicide- First Degree Felony Murder, Unarmed Robbery, and Conspiracy to Commit Unarmed Robbery.
Johnson was bound over on additional charges of Unlawful Imprisonment and Tampering with Evidence. Gauze was bound over on an additional charge of Tampering with Evidence.
The maximum possible penalty for the charges is life in prison without the possibility of parole.
The charges originate back to an incident that occurred in the City of Jackson at 919 Orchard Place on Easter Sunday of this year, and resulted in the death of victim John Lusch.
The preliminary examination took place this past Monday and Wednesday (August 25 and 27), but at the conclusion of the second day’s hearing, Judge Allison Bates found probable cause existed and bound all three co-Defendants over to Circuit Court.
All future court hearings on this case been assigned to Judge John McBain.
Johnson, Milton, and Gauze are all being held without bond and remain lodged at the Jackson County Jail.
