JACKSON COUNTY, MI – Shortly before 4 pm on Tuesday, June 21st, Deputies from the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff along with Jackson Community Ambulance and the Cambridge Fire and Rescue Service responded to a two-vehicle fatal traffic crash. The crash occurred on Wamplers Lake Road near Wellwood Road in Norvell Township.
The victim, Diane Sasinowski, 64, A Norvell Township woman was traveling eastbound on Wamplers Lake Road when her vehicle crossed into the opposing lane of traffic and caused a head-on collision. Sasinowski was transported to Henry Ford Health Hospital by Jackson County Ambulance – subsequently she passed away from her injuries. The driver in the other vehicle, a Washtenaw County resident, sustained serious injuries, and was transported to Henry Ford Health Hospital for treatment.
At this time, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor in the crash. The crash remains under investigation.
