Southfield, Mich. — In December of 2019, the body of 25-year-old Kevin Bacon was found hanging upside down in the basement of Mark Latunski’s Shiawassee County home. Police say the body had been mutilated with parts eaten.

Latunski has agreed to plead guilty to open murder against the advice of his attorney, who pushed for an insanity plea. Latunski was found competent to stand trial.

A hearing will be held to determine the penalty in the gruesome case in October. Michigan State Police continue to look into the murder and Latunski’s past, as they believe Bacon may not have been his only victim.
