The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is excited to announce it is currently seeking nominations for its Community Awards Week presented by JTV and Jackson’s NewsTalk 970 AM/101.5 FM. The weeklong celebration, January 31 – February 4, 2021 will highlight winners of five significant awards:

 

Omotenashi Presented by Experience Jackson

Omotenashi is a Japanese word that represents the act of providing detailed service. This award recognizes an organization that excels at taking care of visitors, which in turn, equals return visitors to Jackson and creates a positive perception of the Jackson community.

 

Brick Award Presented by Jackson Commercial Contractors Association

These awards (3) honor businesses or organizations that have made a commitment to substantial facilities improvements, locating, or expanding their business in Jackson County.

 

Small Business Person of the Year Presented by County National Bank

Awarded to a Jackson County business that has shown a capacity to withstand the test of time with innovation in their implementation of services, products, and programs.

 

Reach Hire Presented Michigan Works! Southeast

This award honors an individual or organization that has displayed a remarkable commitment to developing today’s workforce to support the future of Jackson County’s economy through measurable job growth/retention, collaboration with education and creativity.

 

Athena Award Presented by Dawn Food Productions, Inc.

Award winners exemplify excellence, creativity and initiative throughout their career, donate time and talent to improve the quality of life for others, help women to reach their full leadership potential through mentorship roles or relationships, and significantly contribute to the Jackson Community.

Nominations will be accepted until Tuesday, November 17th at 5:00 PM.
