Tuesday evening in a 6-2 vote the Jackson County Board of Commissioners approved a resolution affirming the boards support for the Jackson County Office of the Sheriff and the Jackson County Prosecutor “in the exercise of their sound discretion to not enforce against any
citizen an unconstitutional firearms law.”

The resolution cites precedent from 3 past U.S. Supreme Court rulings in regards to firearms ownership and possession.

The two “nay” votes on the Commission came from Daniel Mahoney and Darius Williams.

Commissioner David Elwell who voted in favor of the resolution is running for Jackson County Sheriff in the upcoming election.
