Jackson, Mich. (WKHM) — Jackson City Councilwoman Karen Bunnell, who has served the fifth ward since May of 2020, announced at the end of this week’s meeting that she will be resigning effective the end of September.

Bunnell said she is now engaged and will be moving out of the city, which disqualifies her from holding that office.

City Council will now appoint a fifth ward resident to fill out the term.
