This Wednesday, December 4th, WKHM – Jackson’s NewsTalk 970AM/101.5FM partners with sister station K-105.3 to host our annual toy drive to benefit Toys for Tots.
This year’s toy drive is being held at an all-new location at a new time of day – Blain’s Farm & Fleet will be opening their doors to us and welcoming donations, from 3pm to 6pm. Station DJs Greg O’Connor, Scott Clow, and Jenny Lewis will be on site doing a live remote broadcast as we collect toys and monetary donations, and shop for toys throughout the aisles of Blain’s “Toyland” which has a great selection of items for all ages.
We will be joined by Toys for Tots coordinator Mike Brown, Major Joe Tamayo of the Jackson Salvation Army, and our friends from Two Men and a Truck who are donating transportation for all the toys back to Toys for Tots headquarters. We encourage visitors to join us for a cookie and cup of hot cocoa while they shop, and fill the truck with toys!!
Visitors are also invited to bring or shop for donations that will benefit families in need in other ways, with the help of the Salvation Army this holiday season. Just some of the many items being accepted are food, personal hygiene products, personal comfort items (blankets, slippers, etc.), and of course monetary donations.
Tune in between 3pm and 6pm Wednesday, December 4th or stop down and see us at Blain’s Farm & Fleet, 3555 O’Neill Dr. (former location of K-Mart) to donate to a wonderful cause. ALL donations stay right here in Jackson, Michigan!
