20-year-old Jerred Ballard was sentenced Thursday morning after pleading guilty last month to second degree murder and felony firearms charges in connection with the shooting death of 18-year-old Zachary Frey on Union Street last November. Frey had been in the back seat of a vehicle when Ballard shot him in the head. Ballard was sentenced to 30-60 years in prison on the murder charge, as well as two years for felony firearms, which means he will serve at least 32 years before being eligible for parole.
