The 62nd Annual Carp Carnival starts Thursday and runs until Sunday at Leoni Township Park on Fifth Street. The Michigan Center Lions and Lioness Clubs make it happen every year.

“It take a lot of time to get it all together. It ties up a lot of people but we have a lot of good people supporting us. It’s for a good cause, it’s mainly where we get our money for our site conservation programs. The club does a lot of other things in the community. It does some scholarships, it supports the youth football leagues, boater safety courses. We put up Christmas lights in the winter, have parades for the carnival, a winter parade.”

Fun for the whole family including amusement rides and a midway, food, the carp fishing contests, and of course, the famous Beer Tent.

Ride wristbands are $20 in advance of the carnival and are available at local businesses. At the carnival, the wristbands are $25.
